OLED is still too expensive an option for most people when it comes to the new and even some older model OLED tv’s from 2015-2016 because while the technology has been around for awhile, the big tv manufacturers couldn’t make it cost effective to even attract early adopters. The demand for OLED manufacturing for tv’s and now smartphones will drive the price up quite a bit and I expect to see a big price hike for the iPhone 8 with an OLED display. I read Apple is rumored to be going with 3 separate devices. A standard iPhone 8, the 8 Plus and an 8 Plus model with the OLED display. Can’t imagine paying $1200-$1300 for a phone, but that new technology isn’t going to come cheap!
