It works well. I do it, very immersive!

I want to think of a Philips TV to go with Hue lights for the future, when picking up an HDR 4k or something like that. Since I've heard that ambilight can pair up with Hue.
However you made absolutely no mention of display lag in this review. Can you comment on that? It's useless as a gamer's TV without minimal lag from controller input through to screen.

Our old T.V had the ambilight system, it was really cool and it did add to the experience of watching T.V/playing video games. It's great to see they are building on a unique feature.

As a fan of Ambilight I am super excited about this. I am on my second Philips Ambilight TV, a 6609, and have fitted Philips Hue bulbs throughout the house. I even have Philips AMBX light emitting speakers for my PC. So here is my frustration, I don't believe that we will ever see any of these high end TVs in the UK. Philips's approach to the UK market can be categorised as ' low end, last year' as the only models that you can actually buy fit squarely into that category. I have got my eyes on Sony and LG moving forward.
