Oculus has finally revealed how much its Touch controllers for Oculus Rift cost, and when consumers can buy them. Here’s the details on the Oculus Touch price and release date:
How much will the Oculus Touch cost?
Oculus Touch controllers cost $199. That’s pretty pricey, considering the Rift headset alone costs $600/£499/AU$859.
Preorders start October 10, and the Touch officially launches on December 6.
To sweeten the pot (and if you’re a bit thrown off by that price), Oculus is throwing in two games with every Touch order: VR Sports Challenge and the Unspoken.
Oculus also announced the Touch controllers support room scale. It’s releasing extra sensors for $79 to support this, and those will also launch on December 6.
Oculus Touch price in the US
As noted above, the Touch controllers cost $199. Oculus didn’t mention any bundle that would combine the headset and Touch for a cheaper price. We’ll keep our ears out.
Oculus Touch price in the UK
Though Oculus didn’t mention an official price on stage, it was previously revealed the Touch controllers would cost £190 in the UK. We’ll update this story if we hear anything official from Oculus.
Oculus Touch price in Australia
Oculus didn’t announce an official Touch price for Australia. A straight conversion brings the price to AU$265. That seems about in the Touch controllers’ price wheelhouse, though again, we’ll update if we hear anything official.
There’s been a big gap between the launch of the Rift and Touch, but the wait may be worth it for the more immersive experience the controllers offer. They are expensive, which may turn off consumers, but we’ll know soon if Rift users are willing to pay the price.

Seems like Oculus is finally going to be able to compete with the vive, now that it has room scaling and touch controls. Too bad that will off set you $879 vs $800 for the vive. And the vive already has a well established ecosystem for room scaled games. It’s going to be another year before we can declare a true winner of the 1st gen VR war
