Apple realized there’s a little bit more on the line when designing cars compared to phones. If they come out with a car that doesn’t make left turns, they can’t gloss it over by saying: “you’re not driving it wrong”.

  2. Eunice Ziemann Sr. says:

A car does seem a strange match for Apple.  Apple always wants to remove anything mechanical from their products – no keyboard on the iPhone, no DVD burner, ect.  What would a car with minimized moving parts be like?  It’s knowledge they don’t want.

  3. kane56 says:

Can’t make it in the car business if you’re not sure what you want — or if you want to keep going.

Starting a car company demands focus, as well as stubbornness. Apple showed none in its Titan car project.

  4. Ramon Bahringer says:

@GeorgeKafantaris As we have no idea what Apple was planning or doing, speculating on whether or not they did it right or wrong is just a waste of keystrokes.

  5. Mr. Stewart Stracke DDS says:

Super__Sheep says the icar will be amazing…..

I am still waiting for 2022 to key his icar.  Oops.  Maybe 2025 now…

They need to hire/steal more employees of other company’s experts.

Super__Sheep doesn’t believe Tesla is ahead of imaginary icar.

  6. Sammy Zieme I says:

I’m really glad Apple and others are working on these projects. Selfdriving cars would solve a lot of my problems.  For instance not being able to read CNET!

  8. Dr. Nico Lueilwitz IV says:

Seeing how Apple hardly brings anything new to phones, I am happy that they won’t be bothering with cars.  Apple needs to focus on their core competencies.

  9. haag.reuben says:

@sanenazok Im sure they will bring new ideas to the car.
For starters they will remove the speakers and make the car water resistant 🙂

  10. xschmeler says:

I am on pins and needles to see what ancient technology apple will decide we no longer need and what proprietary standards they can incorporate that will require you to buy only apple or apple licensed do dads.

Perhaps they realized that most of the tech in cars is based on over 100 year old technology and just decided to give up when they ended up with a “car” that couldn’t function because they had removed all of the old tech.

  11. collins.georgianna says:

@befuddledms interesting perspective. I wonder how many weeks they wasted ruling out the square wheel

  12. Aylin Hudson says:

This makes no sense. Automobiles are what Apple does best.  Don’t give up, Tim!

  14. Prof. Casandra Cronin PhD says:

    @DuplicateName

I assume you meant to say “You’re driving it wrong”.

Considering what happened with their maps and navigation software, would anyone trust an Apple car to get them where they want to go without driving across an airport runway or into a lake?
