Apple CEO Tim Cook, who arrived in India on Tuesday night, visited the Shree Siddhivinayak Temple at Prabhadevi in Mumbai on Wednesday ahead of his business meetings in the city amid hopes of Apple’s development centre launch in Hyderbad by him. The company has already invested $100 million in the Hyderbabad centre. Cook is expected meet Tata Group Chairman Cyrus Mistry and other business leaders later in the day.
Apple India Sanjay Kaul also accompanied him during the temple visit.

Cook is also expected to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi later this week and other officials of key ministeries.
Cook’s visit to India comes at a time when the US technology giant is hit by slower growth in global sales of its flagship products — iPhone, iPad and Mac. Apple is focussing on new growth markets like India after posting its first-ever decline in iPhone sales.
Cook is also expected discuss the issue of refurbished phones in India with the officials. However, no official call has been made on the matter.
While its sales in China, its second-largest market after the US, fell 11 per cent, in India iPhone sales were up 56 per cent from a year ago.
The Apple CEO is flying to the country from China, where the company announced a $1 billion investment in the local ride-hailing app Didi Chuxing.
