Garmin launched its Forerunner 230 and Forerunner 235 smartwatches in India in the beginning of this year. Approaching the end of the year, the company has now launched its Forerunner 35 GPS watch with fitness tracking capability at Rs. 15,990 in India. The company has made its fitness band available in the country exclusively through Paytm. The GPS running watch is available in Frost Blue, White, Lime Light, and Black colour variants.
The Garmin Forerunner 35 GPS running watch comes with a heart rate sensor that tracks user’s heart rate throughout the day using company’s Elevate technology. The inbuilt GPS allows users to keep a better track of distance covered by them, their speed, and location.
The Forerunner 35 provides users with features such as smart notifications and live tracking. The live tracking feature allows other people to follow users’ runs in real-time. The smartwatch can pair with Android and Windows 10 Mobile smartphones, as well as iPhones, compatible with Bluetooth Smart technology.
The GPS running watch automatically uploads fitness data to Garmin Connect. It also provides music controls to the users. “All-day activity tracking counts steps, calories and intensity minutes and reminds you when to move,” the company says in the product description. The Forerunner 35 tracks the periods of inactivity and gives out vibration alerts to let users know that they need to move.
Garmin Connect, company’s online community to store fitness data, allows users to join challenges, get better understanding of their own fitness, and even share their progress with others.
The Garmin Forerunner 35 houses a rechargeable lithium-ion battery that’s rated to last up to 9 days, but that figure drops down to 13 hours when used in training mode, as per the company’s claims.
