As I sit here blasting a playlist made up entirely of power ballads to a room of, at best, unenthusiastic fellow writers, I can’t help but feel the suggestion I write about a deal on a pair of headphones could be more than a little passive-aggressive in intent.
Nonetheless, here I am, and it’s a doozy of a deal. The Bose QuietComfort 25 headphones, usually found around the £200 mark – and often at their full retail price of £290 – are going for the bargain price of £139.95 right now on Amazon.
Being Bose, the headphones have top-notch sound quality and the company’s field-leading noise cancellation technology making them perfect for blocking out the relentless rattling of the tube carriage – or a brilliant and morale-boosting power-ballad playlist, for example. It’s not wireless at this price, but if you don’t mind being tethered to your phone, these are definitely as good as you’re going to get for the price. Just make sure you get the right model for in-line controls, as there are versions for iPhone and Android available for the same price. The noise-cancelling functionality should last 35 hours on a single AAA battery, but if it runs out you can still use the headphones without.
To be clear, these aren’t the very latest and greatest of the Bose range – that honour belongs to the QuietComfort 35 II wireless headphones, which also happen to sell for £330. For under £140, though, this is about as good as you could hope to get.
