Update: Surprisingly, today’s Apple HomePod deal has lasted all day at $250, which is $100 cheaper than the normal price in the US. Both the Space Gray and White colors are in stock, though they take one to three business days to ship, according to retailer B&H Photo. Here’s the still-active HomePod sale below.
The Apple HomePod price is $100 cheaper today than it was last week, with one US retailer selling the Siri-controlled smart speaker for $250. That’s the best price we’ve seen for it since Black Friday, and that’s ideal for someone looking for a big gift in time for Christmas, which is now less than two weeks from today.
You can buy a HomePod for $250 at B&H Photo, at least while this deal remains in stock. It normally costs $350 (the original MSRP from Apple and the price pretty much everywhere else), meaning you’re saving $100. On top of that there’s no tax outside of New York and New Jersey, according to B&H Photo’s fine print.
Although this deal has lasted several hours (it originally went live at midnight), you’ll need to be fast. Because the Apple HomePod is on sale in both the Space Gray and White colors, the two versions of the Siri-enabled smart speaker are labeled with a small warning message: “Limited supply at this price.” You’re not going to be able to buy it for $250 for very long. We expect it to sell out within a few hours.
HomePod sales like this are rare
This is only the second time we’ve seen the HomePod price drop so low. Previously, it was a Black Friday sale at the end of November at Best Buy. That’s the deal that introduced the speaker at $250 for a very limited period of time. Most people got to the page and found the HomePod deal sold out. Target had the HomePod for $100 earlier today, but that vanished even more quickly.
You’re probably not going to find a cheaper HomePod price. If it does sell out before we update this page, however, you best route for a deal is to seek out an open box discount, according to our deals experts. US retailers have to re-stock open box items when customers return them, and even a HomePod in excellent condition may see a significant price drop.
The smart home category expected to go even more mainstream at CES 2019, with a bunch of new HomeKit-enabled accessories. So having a HomePod with $100 price drop makes for a smart buy for the center of your digital domicile.
